Where's your favourite place to race & why?
I absolutely loved the Sprint Distance Oceania Cup race in Geelong 2013. The course was awesome, weather was stunning & I got the chance to run down the finishing chute and through the finishing tape which is a feeling I will never forget! Kinloch Oceania Sprint Champs is also a personal favourite - I always race well on that gnarly course!
What is your go-to, post-race treat?
Can't go past a coffee and slice of chocolate brownie!
What do you tell yourself on the start line of a big race?
Self confidence goes a long way in High Performance sport. I like to remind myself of all the training & races I have in the bank, and that I trust in my own ability.
What is your main interest outside of triathlon?
BAKING! I LOVE it. I bake for my family, friends, flatmates, sponsors & coaches as a way to say thanks. I am also completing my Post Grad Diploma of Teaching (primary) at the moment so spend time at the local primary school here in Cambridge. I also baby sit and volunteer at local events.
Favourite training session?
I love speed sessions. Any speed sessions! 25m sprints in the pool, a track session or lapping out in a group on the bike... I just like to go fast!
Where would you like to travel to and why?
I would love to visit Switzerland because I've heard it's breathtaking. Canada is one of my favourite countries, so would love to explore more of what it has to offer!
What else is important to you?
My partner, George. He is the most important part of my support system! I love helping people, making people smile, and I really enjoy giving people advice or talking through their problems. Loyalty, a good work ethic and a sense of humour are all traits I respect and admire in others. Being able to have fun whilst training is really important, so surrounding myself with good, positive people is high on my list of priorities!
